  The FitSystem by Phil Oren® has been training the staff of Whole Earth Provision Co. since 1996. They send 10 to 12 people each year for
training to be more professional in fitting footwear. Kevin Lewis, General Merchandise Manager and Footwear Buyer Stormee Wolfgramm support
the personnel by providing proper footwear for customers and the tools with which to fit them. They also conduct a Backpacker Magazine Boot
Camp each year at one of their stores. The Fit System by Phil Oren® is proud of Matteo Ellis who works in their Austin Westgate store. Matteo
attended both Phase I and Phase II FitSystem® workshops. He is personally inspired as a result of the problems he has with his own feet, and
therefore understands the need for a professional fit. Matteo has raised the bar for other employees at all of the Whole Earth Provision stores. Our
hats are off to you, Matteo-keep up the good work.

  Mast General Store has been a strong believer of the FitSystem by Phil Oren® since Fred Martin (Vice-President) and Jim Brown (Footwear Buyer) first
attended a workshop six years ago. They implemented the FitSystem® in their stores and have been very pleased with the customer satisfaction as a result of the increase in the service level. Mast General Store with Asolo USA invited me to attend and participate at Trail Day’s in Damascus, VA in 1999. We have been there for the last 4 years and will be in our large tent again May 13, 14, 15, and 16, 2004. Every year they have their employees come and work with the FitSystem® team to take them to a higher level of fitting footwear. They are one of the top stores in the USA for fitting footwear. The Travel Country management team has set up a fine oiled machine for fitting footwear. When the management gives a directive, things happen. Change has to come from the top down, that is why Travel Country has excelled in such a short period of time as one of the leading fit shops in the United States. This all started with Doug Stone, the footwear buyer, attending a class and realizing the need to implement the FitSystem®. With the General Manager, Mike Plante, agreeing, they set up a plan to train all of their personnel in search of excellence. I am pleased to say they have achieved their goal. In 1985 I started working with David Baker the owner of Summit Hut. Every time I came up with more ways of being more professional in fitting footwear, he did not hesitate too give it a try. We both noticed that he had happier customers and they told their friends. David Baker has been a supporter of what I have been trying to accomplish ever since 1985.

I am very proud to say his staff is one of the more professional footwear sales staff in the United States. In our industry we always have young staff moving on. When Summit Hut hires new staff they are trained immediately. When an owner like David Baker and the upper management of a business make a directive, "This is the way it is going to be", it is my observation that they are always successful. So, as a result it is not surprising to me that I selected for my first dealer to feature in my site, the Summit Hut.
